Samsung has just unveiled a suite of five new phones, known as the ‘Icon family’. They take on popular touchphones in the market such as the Apple iPhone. There's the Jet Icon, Galaxy Icon, HD Icon, Preston Icon and the Omnia Icon.
Each has its own specific uses, but the one that really stood out, in particular was the Jet, with a faster processor and very much geared toward social networking. It's very slim and stylish at just 11.9 mm thick and weighing 110grams.
The HD Icon is also quite impressive as the first ever handset to feature High Definition video recording on a mobile phone, allowing you to capture and share all your multimedia content on a fantastic AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) screen. It also features an 8 megapixel camera and dual stereo speaker. It’s a good option for the avid photographer. With inbuilt DLNA, you can go straight from your phone to your HDTV or PC. Available in September, it will retail for $999.
