Sony’s Motionflow 200Hz Bravia arrives today
Posted on: Wednesday, 1 July 2009
By By Claire Moffat
 |
| The Socceroos winning goal scorer in the qualifying match against Japan, Tim Cahill is heralding the benefits of Sony’s latest Motionflow 200Hz technology. |
Sony’s second generation Motionflow 200Hz BRAVIA LCD TV, the Z5500 series will arrive in Australian stores today July 1 in time to mark the Qantas Socceroos’ second consecutive entry into the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa.
The significance of the Motionflow 200Hz technology for viewing sporting events such as the World Cup lies in its ability to deliver a extremely smooth picture.Contact:www.sony.com.au.
Improvement on first generation
The Z5500 is available in three screen sizes – 52”, 46” and 40” – the ultimate living room set-up for sitting back and watching your favourite sport. It is also the second generation of Australia’s number one selling LCD television, the Z4500 series.
The Z5500 improves on the first generation of Motionflow 200Hz technology by creating even smoother motion not only horizontally, but also for vertical panning shots.
According to Sony Australia product manager, visual display Jan Ergen, “With the World Cup right around the corner, football fanatics who want to immerse themselves in every game can do that right in their living room, with the BRAVIA Z5500 – make every game a home game.”
Energy saving features
The BRAVIA Z series also includes features that help reduce power consumption. The Ambient Light Sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the picture depending on how the room is lit. If the BRAVIA Z series is being used to connect to a PC, the TV automatically switches into standby mode if the input signal is undetected after 30 seconds.
The Z5500 also has a Energy Saving Switch that the TV’s power to be shut off at the front of the panel, without having to unplug the AC cord from the mains. This cuts standby mode power consumption to less than 0.0001W. |
